just wondering if this is safe. The styrofoam and the following coats of quickcement and coloring do well in freshwater aquaria but will the elevated salt content of brackish leak some possible poisions into the water?

Not sure, but I can't think why this wouldn't work.

The styrofoam & cement method has been used in saltwater tanks as well. I personally had a pair of seahorses in such a tank. They're fairly touchy animals and I had success breeding them in there, so something must have been right. The key is to be sure the cement is cured long enough that it doesn't mess with your pH.

ah good to know, the back ground is my next little project
