Just wondering if any one can give me a tip on what i can feed my boxer shrimp etc. they get there normal food but was wondering what other house hold things i could feed them ? ;)

Why do you feel the need to suppliment its feeding? I have loads of shrimps in my tank and have never yet put food in the tank for them. Shrimps are scavengers by nature and i try and keep em that way. Feeding them directly makes them lazy and they wont do their role as part of the cleanup crew.

Question answered !

i feel a bit daft now ?

:*)

God i'm such a dip sh**

Dont feel bad about asking this question, sometimes its the only way to find out an answer. Also, I might add that my garlic cheese bread is burning. GTG

my cleanup crew is a decent size and my fish are small and I don't feed them alot . I sometimes purposely overfeed so my cleanup crew can have some food. :*)

What fish do you have in your tank?

Boxer Shrimps are notorious for having a go at smaller fish - I had one that near enough wiped out a whole shoal of chromis.

Thats true, Boxers are a wolf in sheeps clothing. Real nasty and i would not put one in my tank :-(

saying that its one of my favorite shrimps :*)

mine are the sexy's and the harlequins, wont have the harlequins cause of there food, and im not sure how long sexy's would last in my tank -_-
leon

Yep i l ove the sexy shrims and would love em for my tank but i fear they would only last nano seconds in my tank. My silty wrasse is a very efficient hunter and no hiding place is left unsearched in its relentless mission for bristleworms and pods. If a turbo snail ever falls off the rockwork and lands to expose its underside then it will attack  :-(

So even though i would love a few of these little shrimps, i think its simply best not considered for my tank :*)

yeah you can tell sometimes about the boxer shrimp, he/she is cool at the mo though, just sits on the side of the heater always looking at the other things around him wishing that one would swim just that little bit closer

But there all doing find at the moment and have been for a few months so not going to disturb them.
