i bought some fry food and went home to find 3 more fry dead. theres only 2 who can swim and another who keeps falling. why are they like this?is it because of water quality?but i cleared all the water and relaced them with tank water just yesterday. low oxygen? or not eating enough? when i feed them they just swim under the food im not sure if they eat it or not.

What type of fish food is it? One informative fact is you can also crush the food up if it is flacks and give it to them. They can more elaly eat it then .

You HAVE to feed fry every 3 hours at least. They literally digest food within 20 minutes. I use first bites by hikari and I like them. Some fry will die though no matter what you do, as genetic things sometimes create issues. Dont fret, most livebearers are inbred so it is possible their genetic makeup is just flawed.

My fry are addicted to Sera Mikropan; it's just the right size for their little mouths and they gobble it all up. I tap a bit straight from the container into the tank and it mainly floats. The bigger ones do what I call "the toothcarp scoop" near the top (greedy lil buggers!) and that surface disturbance sends bits slowly downwards for the littler, shyer ones to all have a go at. I've had a 30g jar ($7 AUD) for about two months now and it's still more than 2/3 full! I feed them about five or six times a day... supplemented with microworms & baby artemia which they also love. I think there must be about 250 fry in there, varying sizes. They're growing quick though; far quicker than with Hikari First Bites which is also more expensive. Just my experience :)

i'v got 26 guppy fry  and 2 of them cant swim  i think its because they r smaller than the rest  and they r very skinny because they wont eat much food  slowly but stedaly they r learning how to swim :D they'll pic up soon i'm sure mine r  :D

What are your water stats; does the tank have a filter/heater in it?
If they are not taking to powdered of flake foods you try various liquid fry foods like liquifry no.1.
