I would put 4 peacock gudgeons, 2 badis badis, and and a few cories in that tank, and then add a whole bunch of java ferns in :D

Dwarfs, I think you have sold this idea to me.

Just looked at pics of the Peacock Gudgeons and they are superb!!

Where can I get them from online? Just looked on Trimar and can only find Peacock Goby. Are these the same?? If not, what category do they fall into??

Also..couldn't find Badis Badis but did see Dario Dario (Scarlet Badis). Are these the same or should I be looking under another name?

Any help appreciated as I think these are the perfect tenants for my new tank, along with the cories (which ones, I am not sure yet...so advices again appreciated).

Cheers

I know you asked dwarfs but I can answer some of your questions for you :D The peacock gudgeon is also called the peacock goby so you've found the right fish on Trimar. Also the scarlet badis badis is also called Dario Dario so that is the same fish as well.

I am actually picking up a pair of peacock gudgeons today. They will be the first I have owned and I'm so excited. I'll post pics in the aquarium section later today or tomorrow  I also saw a pair of scarlet badis badis yesterday and if you choose to get a pair of those too you wont be disappointed. They are lovely looking fish. I'm planning on getting a pair myself.

I'm not exactly sure about the cories. Both the badis badis and the gudgeon like the lower levels of the tank. Maybe if you want the cories you can get pygmy cories instead? They are tiny things.

brilliant. cheers Elisabeth  .

apologies for singleing out Dwarfs too :*) .

all help greatfully appreciated.

I have 5 sparklers in my 10g, and haven't seen any aggression. I do have other tanks to move any aggressors if need be. I've kept 2 together in a 10g, but 1 was constantly harassing the other. I think this is a case where more is better, similar to a female Betta set-up.

I love the Peacock goby tank idea. I'm reserving space in my 29g for them. The only problem is I've only seen them at one store, and they were $19.99 each. -_-

The Trimar site I mentioned above has them at £3.99 each...about $7?

Problem is it's a UK site! :/

Decided that is what I am gonna go for though, once the tank has cycled. Pair of Gudgeons, pair of Dario Dario, four smaller cories and, once the tank has matured sufficiently, a trio of otos for algae duties  .

A nice fine substrate (not sand though) with plenty of plants and slate caves for coverage.

I have just read on a couple of sites that the Gobys/Gudgeons prefer PVC piping but IMO this takes away the natural look of a tank so I think I will avoid.
