Hello all, i hope some one can help me out with this as ive read allot online about discus having black peppering on its body from Low/high lightning to black backround discus trying to camuflage themselves and of corce one of the theories is stress. As i said previusly i bought 2 pigeon blood discus about 4" each for £45 they looked healthy and very nice with orange pinkish colour really bright like you see on the highlight vests. so i thought ill take them... now about black peppering on them how can i help discus to get rid of them what can i improve as none of my other 8 discus have them. Is this due to previus owner/breeder had bad quality water or light?

Thanks very much!
Serg

How long have you had them? Like you said, there are a lot of things that can cause a Discus to show peppering. Could just be being caused by the stressful move and introduction into their new tank. Check your water stats too just in case, as bad water quality can be linked to peppering. What color is your gravel?

Ive just bought them today and they about 3 hours in my tank. the previus owner who had them about 4 month i think as far as i remember he didnt have gravel but my gravel is black moon sand. My water stats are good i use 30% RO water in my tank which is 76 Gal changed 2ce a week. My other discus which ive had fro about 5 month are doing great with no black spots... so i hope the ones ive just got will do same and loose theirs.

I wouldn't worry about it. Probably stress from moving. Should go away after a few more days.
