Hi All,

You've all been such great help with my new tank. I want to thank all of you who have held my hand so far. I'm ready to introduce another fish and I think I probably need a bottom feeder. I only have a 10 gallon tank and almost all bottom feeders that I have seen get really large over time. Any suggestions for bottom feeders that stay kinda small? It can be a fish or a shrimp (or other creature). It would be nice if it didn't get any large than around 2" at adult size, that way I can add a couple more smaller fish to finish up my tank (I should have gotten at least a 20 gallon, but didn't know).

pygmy corys do very well and are very active around all the tank but stay near the bottom most of the time

Pygmy Cories are often described as being freeswimming, and not staying on the substrate at all like a typical bottom feeder...

So does that mean they are a good bottom feeder or not? and if not a good small bottom feeder what would you recommend?

Go for Albino corys, the grow a to a few inchs, are pretty, and do a decent clean up job.

Hate to admit it but I don't like albino corys so was looking for something else. Are there other corys that are a bit more colorful (like any color than white) that stay small? I would consider something like that. Are there any shrimp that stay small that could do the trick. I heard something about ghost shrimp. Will they work? Are there any other shrimp that stay small that would work that, again, are more colorful? I am a color junkie and the white or clear just doesn't do much for me.

panda cories stay at around 1 inch and are quite good looking. shrimps would be fine but don't expect to see much of them during the day
