I am wondering how many corys I should buy for my 10 gallon tank. It will be stocked with 1 Apistogramma. The tank is cycled, and has been running for 1.5 years. I was thinking about 5 corys with my 6 neon tetras, and my Apistogramma. Is this too much? I don't really want to go under 5, so would 5 be fine? Thanks!

what filter are you using, i just aqadvisored it and put you using a U2 and this is what i got

Yeah, they always say that an apistogramma is too small for a 10 gallon, but I have read, and been told by many others that they will be just fine.

I am using a regular HOB filter. It is rated at 15 gallons, and I have a 10 gallon tank. My tank has been established for 1.5 years, and I'm sure that it makes a difference on how many fish I can have.

Go with 5, but get a small-ish species. Pygmaeus and hastatus are out; too edible. Aim for something that maxes out at about 2 inches. Here are some:

False Julii Cory
Bandit cory
panda cory

there is also a large pygmy cory species whose name is escaping me right now.

Would bronze corys be fine? I remember going to a freinds house, who I met through my aquarium club, and he had some bronze corys that he said he had for about 1.5 years, and they were only 2 inches.

bronze corys generally grow to about 3 inches but either way need a bigger tank footprint
