I wasnt sure which cichlid forum i should post this in, as I have both. I am curious what kind of bottom dwellers/catfish/pleco would be okay in a Malawi Tank and a severum tank. I am really fond of bottom dwelling fish, but I am new to the world of cichlids, so I am unsure of what is compatible. Any thoughts?

Most people keep larger Synodontis cat species in with Malawis. As for the Severums, just something in the mid to larger size range.

I'd ask to have this moved to the Old World forum. Most be plenty of people there with some good suggestions for you....

hit the 'report' button and ask a mod to do it for you.

Could a common pleco, or other type of large pleco go in there? The tank is 75g, although i think that is still kind of small for a common

We're talking about with the Severums, right? I think a mid sized pleco species would be good in there. Just not too small. The Severums will probably ignore it. No need to put a Common in there. It will just get too big and make a big mess.

I was thinking as well that a common would get to big. I do not know much about plecos, but I do like the look of them. My severums are still very young, only about an 1.5 inches, so they aren't bothering anything yet. I am looking to the future when they do get bigger. I'll look around at mid-sized plecos. Around my area, anything but a common and bristlenose is few and far between unfortunately.
