Hello people.
I have a 60ltr tank which has been running for almost five weeks.
It has 2 platties, three guppies and two tiny guppy fry in it so far but the water around here is very hard (about pH 8).
I want to add a shoal of 5 cardinal tetras.
Could i do partial water changes with bottled water to lower the reading ?
I have read various ideas, pros and cons about chemically altering the pH so I don't really want to do it that way
I have a couple of mopani wood pieces in the tank and I think I read that this can lower the pH.

Any ideas or help ?

Should i just pick other fish species ?
Would love the tetras as they remind me of my childhood when my parents had a tank.

Thanks guys.

Maybe you are thinking distilled water?

What is the water parameters of the tap water you are using?

If it's not too high or too low, most fish can acclimate to your water parameters. It's best to buy fish from an LFS/LPS that has the same water parameters as you do, to make the acclimation process easier for the new fish.
