Well after 12 months I have finally got my Botia Sidthimunki, I picked them up this afternoon all 10 of them. I got them for £3.50 each which is an absolute bargain :D .

Those are awesome gorgeous little dudes looking like they are in fabulous condition  Did you have to pay a pretty penny for them and pre-order them ? Or were you lucky enough to find them ?

Edit: Shucks that's not fair :grr: you got them cheap as chips ! Consider yourself envied big time :alien:

Ps: Now you can live up to your sig too ;)

Very nice and very cheap too. 10 is a very nice school. I have 7 B. Kubotia and its awesome to see all them together. I bet its really cool to see that many Sidthimunki together. Well done :good:

Cool photo!

A little off-topic, but I'm curious --- are you a fish breeder? I've seen you post pics of your other purchases these past few months, and you almost always buy in large quantities (5 and up). Got me thinking either you have one gigantic tank, or a fish breeder. Hope you don't mind me askin! :)

If I can have a go at breeding something I will but I don't intentionally set out to, I have always tried to keep fish in shoals if at all possible as I think that is when you see the best from your fish. I had to scale down a few years ago as I was diagnosed with a cracked vertebrae in my spine and a debilitating muscle illness called Fibromyalgia, it has taken a long time to come to terms with the illness but now that I have I am managing to slowly build up my tanks again. I now have 7 tanks with 2 more planned which will be mainly for breeding projects.

Great fish

Saw some in my LFS a few weeks ago and they are complete nutters! all over the tank zipping in an out of things

They are the worlds smallest loach? Even though they stay so small what sized tank would you put them in baring in mind their swimming behaviour?

Cheers
Dan

I have mine in a 26" long by 12" wide (19US gallon) and probably wouldn't feel comfortable in keeping them in anything less. They are incredibly active zipping all over the place all the time.

They are ultra cute though and just gorgeous little things

If you do a 2 second google, it will tell you it's a "Dwarf Chain Loach" ;)

They are a great little fish and they never seem to stop, mine will be housed in a 30 gallon tank. Some specimens can reach good sizes, the one I used to have that won 2 best in shows was nearly 3" in length.
