O.K. this fish has had one of his gills swollen for about 1 1/2 months. It happened when i was gone for about a weekend, So i don't know how it happened. This is the first time I've had any problems with this fish, so I thought that he had hurt himself on something in the tank. He was eating, swimming around, and acting like he normally does, but after 1 1/2 weeks it hadn't gotten better. I figured it must be some kind of parasite or bacterial infection. At this point he was still in with all the other fish in my 55gl :( , i wanted to put him in a hospital tank but i did not have one. so, i started to buy the stuff i needed for one and i treated the whole tank with a gill parasite medication calledGeneral Cure.

It had no effect at all on my fish -_- . A couple of days ago my hospital tank had finished cycling i was finally able to move him out of my 55gl. I gave him a day to adjust then started treating him with a bacterial gill disease medication called T.C. Capsules. it is used for 4 days and i have 2 days left. so far i still have not seen any improvement in his condition, and all my fish in the 55gl stayed healthy even though he was in with them for more than a month :( . Here are some pics of him

as u can see his gill is swollen an discolored.

his other side which looks fine

So now i don't know what to do next, could there be something else wrong with his gill not bacterial not parasites? or should i try a diferent type of medication? any suggestions would be very helpful

Red gills are a parasite if water quality is good, i would medicate immediately, with a parasite med, if it has been along while like that you could also have bacterial problems on top,.
