Bolivian Rams?

Ok I'm getting a tank to sit on my computer desk. I'm gonna get at least 2 to put in it.

It may be a corner style tank either 18" or 24" high and 18" accross or just a 2' rectangular tank, how many rams would be ok for these (I guess what I'm also asking is how social are they as I just got 2 for my 40Gallon tank and am wondering would they like some friends or is just pairs better?)

In that sort of space you just want to have a pair. Each pair would need about 2' square of space to them selves. So to keep the piece i would just stick to having a pair in there!
