Bolivian Rams

I just picked up 2 beautiful rams. I was wondering how to tell the sex of these fish and what is best for their diet??? I have read they can take about anything for food but I dont know what would be best.

The male usually has 3 or so black rays on his dorsal fin, and I feed mine shrimp pellets as they like to pick off of the ground. It's hard for them to feed from the surface as their mouth is on the bottom

Thank you! They love the shrimp pellets. Neither has dark bars on their dorsal fin. I guess I have two females?
