Bolivian Rams

Hi all this weekend I purchased a pair of Bolivian Rams, I wanted a male and a female but I believe I have been given 2 males!!

What do you think?

They will seem to lock jaws every so often they don't seem to hurt each other and swim around together most of the time peacefully.

I can't tell the sex from the video, but one of those fish will probably kill the other one at some point in the near future, if they remain in the same aquarium.

Thanks for the reply Kat I can't get back to the store I bought it from until the weekend and I only have a 100 litre which isn't finished cycling yet or a 70 litre that contains some Tiger barbs.

Ive kept Bolivian Rams for years and have always had this jaw locking and I've never seen one do damage to the other. I tried to get females in my area but in the end gave up. Ive currently got 2 males, they have a bit of a chase and grapple now and again but in over 2 years in the same aquarium have never done any damage. I'd be interested to know if people have had a bolivian ram kill another cos Ive always found their fighting to be pretty haarmless stuff.

thank you for your reply, the man who sold me the fish said that if they both turn out to be male they may fight but it wont be anything serious and that I could take 1 back. So far they seem fine most of the time just occasionally lock jaws

I have 3 Bolivian Rams and only 2 of mine lock jaw but that is very rarely. They are great fish and when I sit by the tank they come up and follow my hand movement.
