I was looking at getting some bolivian rams for a 55 gallon fishtank.
I was wondering if they are hardy or not and if they would be alright with mostly tiger barbs and other chiclids?

They are supposed to be hardier than German Blue or Gold rams. As to personality issues, some people call rams the chihuahua of cichlids...... I have a pair and they don't seem to bother other fish (sevs, clowns, etc). I guess they are ok with other cichilids as long as they themselves don't get eaten...

thanks how many should I get for them to be happy??
What do you feed them??

they seem to like frozen bloodworms - that's the only thing I've fed them so far but I'm guessing flakes and pellets should work too.

I've heard that they could be aggressive toward their own kind, so I only got two. But other people say throw a few in the tank and let them pair.

What's the record number of rams in a 55g - anybody?

Which other cichlids do you have in the tank? Providing you have nothing too aggresive, bolivian rams will do fine in a 55g, I would suggest, not knowing the types and amounts of other fish you have, a pair, but once we know the other fish in your tank might be able to advise better.

As for food, they will eat pretty much anything, flake, pellet, live and frozen foods, mine loved bloodworms, brineshrimp, prawn, daphnia.

well I havent got it yet so I will have to wait and cycle it and do some research to see what I want but I already have a convict could it be with that?

So long as you dont have a pair of breeding convicts, yep would be ok.
