Bolivian Rams With Larger Cichlids

Which larger sized cichlids (10-20cm range) are compatible with bolivian rams? I was thinking along the lines of a blue acara or firemouth.

I wouldn't risk anything with them other than Angels,Discus and Laetacaras + Apisto's.

Uarau would work but would spook the daylights out of them.

I have in the past kept acaras with rams (both bolivian and german blue) without problems, the acaras were with them from young though and in a large tank.

I wouldnt keep an FM with them though. However, the less aggressive Ellioti and Aureus might be ok with them. Other species I kept with them were G/Surinamensis, so I would assume that other placid Geo's would work too.

Thanks for the advice. So firemouths are out, I might look into getting a blue acara then.

Agreed! You dont want anything too boisterous with the placid natured Rams.

Festivums, Rainbows, HRPs, Port acaras should all be fine
