can you keep a pair of cockatoo cichlids with a pair of bolivian rams in an 240 litre tank?

yep, they should be fine together in that size tank. have some plants and rocks in there and you will probably have fry within a short time.

Yep, however, the livebearers generally come from alkaline water and all the others come from acid water. If you keep the PH close to 7.0 then they should all be ok. Otherwise only keep tough livebearers like platies & swordtails and avoid guppies & mollies.
