.... so the label said your water may turn brown if you dont rinse it , more like i couldnt see from one end of the tank to the other !!! , have had to remove it and it wont be going back in !!! , gone for some nice blue marble type rocks instead ....

Some bogwood does realease a lot of tannin; it just needs soaking beofre you put it in the tank.

Many fish like tannins anyway; for instance, living in the tannin stained 'blackwaters' of the Amazon is the reason so many Amazonian fish (neon tetras and rams are perfect examples) have evolved the beautiful colours they have :)

no great biggie , it only cost £6 for the 3 pieces , good chance the place i got it from will take it back for a refund anyway ....

Just boil them up for a bit then put them back in :D Your fish will like the tannins anyway :good:

Don't boil it, that causes it to start rotting.
Soak it in warm water for a few weeks & it will eventually stop losing tannins.
I don't mind a hint of colour in the water, but if you don't then the only way is to be patient & soak it

have decided to leave it out , it lokoed ok but then i think i had overcrowded the tank , i quite like the barren look of the sand and rocks that i have now ....

I just chuck my bogwood in the garden/allotment water butt for a month or so. Hey presto, no Tannins & it sinks.

Tom
