i've done a several water changes since putting my bogwood in my tank and although not as much tanning as before there is still that colour tinge there how long roughly does it take to go?

oh and by the way yes i did boil and soak the wood before putting in my tank

If you've managed to make some of the tannins go with water changes keep it goin and it wont take that long

Try putting a carbon pad into your filter this may assist with the removal of the tannins

It depends on how much tannin is left. It can take a while to clear out but if it's already noticiably staying clearer it shouldn't be long.

I'm having the same problem binman. I'm doing water changes every 2 days. Seems to be working, slowly but surely. :good:

i love that tannin look gives the tank a nice tint, i actually do it on purpose with bog wood, leave it be, its said the fish prefer it anyway

most the fish we keep from the amazon live in blackwater so its much more natural for them to have the tint in the water. that being said if you want clear water then either do more water changes or wait for it to eventually go
