Hi I purchased a peice of bogwood over six weeks ago and the water is still turning brown. I have been steeping it in a bucket but its not doing any good, any ideas.

Ive had bogwood for over a year the still leeches tanin, its nothing to worry about

I agree, however its uncommon for it to happen for over a year. Does not harm the fish in any way and may turn your water slightly acidic. (which most plants love)

Pouring boiling water on it and soaking it in very hot water can reduce the leaching once in the tank aswell.

and if it realy realy bothers you invest in seachems purigen, itll give you crystal clear water over night

try doing a water change of about 10% and try some api clear teatment that should do the trick it did for me cause keep changeing the water everyday will affect your fish and the contets in your tank
