Hey all, Im in the middle of running my tank, ive got a basic set up to start with, some plants, bogwood and small gravel. One piece of bogwood keeps growing white slime stuff. It seems to make the water cloudy also. Ive scrubbed and boiled it and scrubed it again. It just grows back. I may add it takes a day to come back! what do i do!?! this seems a newbie question but advice would really help!

cheers, Andy.

soak the wood for a good few weeks before putting it in the tank

i have soaked it for almost 2 weeks :( i do have a pic here

its alright Andy, i don't use Mopani anymore, it releases a larger amount of tannins and your problem has occured with every peice of Mopani i have had. BTW Apple snails love it!

lol, i dont think i'll be using it again either after this! shame though, its a really nice looking wood. Ah well il just ride it out and look into apple snails :D
