Bluegill/sunfish + Oscar

Maybe it is just me, but I have an oscar, and my oscar looks extremely similar to a bluegill/sunfish in shape. Is this just because of similar evolutionary pressures, or distant relatives, or what?

really look at the fin and jaw structure.... they are veryyyy veryyyy different!!! once you really look into it you'll see more differences than similarities.
