i was soo excited to pick up a 2nd hand 34gallon tank yesterday. today i put water in it to check for leaks and discoevered that the glass has a pale blue tinge to it making the water look blue, kinda like the ocean.

do u think this will affect me being able to make my tank look natural?
anyone else have a blue tint? and how did your tank turn out?

any comments would be greatly appreciated..

i want to keep it a freshwater community tank, but thanks the suggestion and just for replying......

what about if i made it dark water like for an amazon set up??

I'm sure many like me read your post... thought about it... but since I (and I’m sure many others) haven't ever had a blue tinted tank... I just really don't know what to suggest. But once you get it up and running let us know how it went!

i would suggest cave-fish setup, as they are usually dark, and the blueness will add 'oooness' but blind fish are hard to find

I would get fish with glowing blue parts to them - neons for instance - and that will really be enhanced by the blue tint of the aquarium.

What a cool find for you!!!

thanks for the ideas...
i wasnt having a go at anyone, i really was just grateful for the reply.
im going to start decorating it and then see how it looks, maybe it wont be so noticeable. ..
i wonder what happened if i went tannin stained.....
