Ok, so I've only had a tank for about 3 months now, successful with 2 clown fish, 1 mustard tang and a starfish with several snails for over 2 months now. Recently, I tried adding a sebae anemone, a cleaning shrimp, and 2 blue tang (about 1.5" big - still small). The blue tang are the most expensive ones in my tank and they were suffering from high nitrates - over 80ppm, I was on vacation and the person taking care never did a water change and fed them too much (the others were fine). I returned them to the store and they kept them for two days while I did two ~30% water changes. All levels are normal now and they've been doing fine now for over a day, swimming around and seeming okay. The only thing I noticed is that the larger mustard tang (2.5") gets a bit territorial about the good hiding spot, but not really too much fighting.

So I just came home and had the light off for a few hours. When I turn it on, the two blue tangs are barely moving (i know they're scared some and like to lay on the bottom on their sides). I watched them allow to be sucked up against the pump grate and just stayed there for a couple of minutes till I turned it off to let them try to swim away. Then they just flopped over. I tried to move them around with the net, and they didn't budge. Even when I was touching them with the net and moving them around!!! They aren't breathing fast like before when the nitrates were high, but this is still scary. They seem to be better now, about 30 minutes after I've had the light on, but were they really just sleeping? They're new to the tank and me so it's hard to tell if they're just sensitive or something is really wrong.

Please help!

Has the fish darkened in colour.

No, they haven't darkened - in fact they looked a little lighter because the light wasn't on for a few hours.

What is the right part fo the forum? I'm a newb and thought this is where the emergencies went.
