Alright, well here's the problem. My female lays the eggs just fine and the male swoops down as if he is fertilizing them, but the eggs are always white. This has happened two times this month and I haven't gotten one successful batch since March. Is there something I can do to fix this or might I have to buy a new male?

Thats a shame. It could be he is too young, but you say they have been successful before, i think, which might mean he is too old.
How long does it take for the eggs to go white. They must be yellowish when the female lays them. It could be that the GH (General Hardness) has gone up. How long have you had them?

Well my last female was ill and passed away so I had to replace her and these two have been together for about a month or so. I use both RO+DI in their 40 gallon tank. I haven't changed the water in a while because I took out the gravel and use sand instead, but the filtration is really good and the water is really clear. Filter: Biowheel 320 gallons an hour.

I think it's the male though, there's definetly something wrong with him. He tries to eat but can't seem to hold in his food.

Congratulations!

I thought my male had the same problem because they would turn white and he would eat them all by the 2nd day after spawning. But as of this morning he and his wifey have about 20 fry! Good luck raising yours!
