Beautiful pics, they are lovely! I just received a wee little german blue ram for Christmas, it's about _________ this long. Any tips for sexing them or do I wait until it's a little older to try? I would love to get him/her a companion...

Thanks for sharing your Blue Ram pictures, they are well taken.
The following are my Golden Balloon Rams pictures.

Picture 1&2 are clearer, notice that the female Ram is having a bigger tummy and is rounder than the male. The male Ram is having a higher dorsal fin and darker in orange colour. They are spawning soon.

They seem a little small but once they get about a half an inch bigger you can probably try. What I did was put a piece of slate(Or other flat stone), lowered the pH to 6.4, raised the temp to 80 degrees, and give them a various diet.

Wow Ramfish, thanks for sharing. I personally never knew what the Golden Bubble Rams looked like.

Do you have any tips on sexing them? I thought if I couldn't figure it out, I'd take it down to my LFS and have them take a look, but it would be nice to know what exactly I'm looking for

Oh haha, well the females are typically smaller, at that size that probably doesn't help much. It's a little harder when they are younger but if you take a look at my pics you will see that the female(top and bottom pictures) have a purplish pinkish coloring around their abdomen. Males(Middle picture) have an orange frame.
Can you take any pics of your fish? maybe one of us ram experts will be able to distinguish them.
