Hi guys,
I'm still cycling my tank and months away from getting any Rams. But before I start to stock I was wondering how many people keep Blue Rams in pH around 8. I'm not wanting to breed them, just to keep them in good health. If it's a bad idea then I'll change my fish wish list, say that ten times fast  .

Acclimatise SLOW and you should be right. Float in tank for 10-15 minutes, then empty bag into 5-10liter bucket and using a bit of airhose with a knot tied in the bottom end to control flow syphen slowly from destination tank to bucket so as to take 1/2 an hour to an hour to fill bucket, if only using 5 liter bucket empty 3/4 water and start again, fish should now be fine to add to tank.

nb 1 up to you if you quarentine, some do some dont :dunno:

nb 2 up to you if you add acclimiatise/fish shop water to your tank or if you just empty it and add new water to tank

HTH

I would just make sure that your tank is definitely cycled perminantly before getting rams as they're really really sensitive to water impurities like ammonia and nitrite.
