OK, so I saw the most beautiful fish I have ever laid eyes on at the fish shop the other day... Neon Blue Rams.

I already have 3 Green Tiger Barbs in my tank, along with some other fish I am not worried about; Cardinal Tetras, a Clown Loach, Zebra Loach and a Golden Nugget Pleco.

Will the Barbs eat the Rams?? I am thinking the answer is probably 'yes,' in which case the Barbs will be going straight back to the shop to be replaced with Rams!

Thanks

The barbs will nip at everything in that tank but the pleco. You should also keep them in large groups to try and avoid aggression. With only 3, you're basically asking for them to harass your other tank mates. They're less of a hassle young, but they'll be quite the little pests when they grow.

what size is your tank? I'm taking a lucky guess that it's not 75 gallons, which means you should also take back your clown loach. They grow much too large than the majority of beginner's tanks, and as cute as they look young, they're gonna grow big, and they love company.

Zebra loaches like others of their species too, so I'd try and get some more if you can, and if your tank space provides it.

I'd like to know what size your tank is, and not to be a buzz kill, but I believe neon blue rams (called commonly also electric blue rams) are a color variation of german blue rams, which prefer a pH below 7 and a water temperature a bit higher than most other fish prefer. They're a bit fragile as well, though some people do have some survivor rams out there that have made it through hardship.

I have 2 of the Electric Blues, the male is quiet feisty though nothing terrible, lovely fish. I keep them at 27-28 degrees so you would be best to review the needs of the current tank mates.
