20gal heavy planted. I used to have a pair of blue rams with 8 tetras and 3 otos. I had an accident with too much co2 and they perished. I have revived the tank and its more healthier than before (the plants).
Anyway it houses 8 platies, 2 otos, and one male vieltail betta.

I really loved the advanced intelligence of the rams compared to other fish I owned so I really want them back. However I know male bettas and rams might not work together. My betta has calmed down and is not aggresive towards the platies. I suspect that blue rams might be tempted to nip at the long fin of the betta.

Anyone keep blue rams with a male betta?

Thanks B)

I don't think I would do it... rams are pretty vibrant looking and most bettas probably wouldn't be happy someone one... and rams yea might have fun with the bettas long tail.

I haven't kept rams, but I keep bettas and I would assume that ram + betta = trouble. :p Like aarvark said, the rams' tail and brightness might lead the betta to attack him or her.

There are exceptions but most bettas do best on their own, although if yours is happy don't change the setup.

meant to say wouldn't be happy SEEING one.. my hands cant keep up with my brain LOL

Just my two cents, but I did have 2 blue rams housed with a male betta for a few months without any problems. They totally ignored each other.
