Blue Rams Rubbing On Things..

My male and female blue rams keep rubbing themselves up on things like in the gravel or on an ornament. Is this normal behaviour?

I have looked over them so closely and cant see any sign of Ich what so ever, so what could it be?

They are acting normal, eating, swimming, chasing, playing..all the things rams do.

rubbing is a sign that somethings wrong. you may not see any white spots yet but that doesn't mean it's not ich. however there are other things that can cause these symptoms. I'd post in the emergencies section where they can give you most advise on disease and medication.

does the water look clear. if you have a lot of particles in the water this could irritate them

If blue rams are anything like African cichlids then that is normal. My mbuna do it all the time. I think they just enjoy it.

I think they have ich. Try to replace 10%-25% of the water. You can also try meds, but I hate useing med, but it's your choice.

Before you dose with meds, try a good water change. 20-25% should be enough. When I've gotten off schedule and it's been a little longer than normal my rams will do this. As soon as I do a good water change they're fine again.
If they are still doing it though after a change, test all your levels. It may be that something is too high for even a normal water change to help.

Okie dokie, I will do a water change today.

But I am really really good with water changes and change it weekly, right on time.

My female passed away last night. but my male is still doing really well, swimming like crazy, eating all his dinner and showing off his beautiful colours.
