here is one pic now, i think it is a male, the other doesnt have the black spot as distinct or as much color, i dont know if that is because it is a female or this is the dominant male, i'll get another pic in a minute..

Hard to tell, pics are a bit blurry. Can you try some more.

At first look though, I'm 99.9% sure that the first pic is a male.
The second pic LOOKS like the one on top is a male, but can't tell for sure. Can you try for a better pic of your suspect female?

Edit: Also, how is their behaviour?

in pic2, the bottom one has a pretty pointed dorsal, but cant really tell from the first pic if that ones dorsal is really long a pointed. if i had to guess i would say theyre both males, but im not sure.

I think the might be both males because they have the same colourings.

If one is a female though, i would say it is the top one on the second pic.

hmm :/ think both male? Are they quite young? mabye after a while they will grow a bit more to look like males

im sorry guys, ill try to get better at taking pictures, i'll try to get one up in a minute. they both look similar i agree, and they are very young i believe. they are very friendly toward each other now and are usually together roaming the tank, i havnt seen then chase each other only but once or twice. the one that i think is the female looks the same except the colors just arent as bold as the other males !

can someone help me tell what the sex of my ram is..thanks in advance.. ok first i need to figure out how to add pics..sorry

i had the smae question before, and the way to tell is the females have pinkish.purplish coloring on the bellies. I dont have a pic, you can look online in yahoo ro google, but it is retty obvious to see. I had two males gold rams and two male blue rams, had to move one of each to another tank. those two look like males, the pics are blurry, but u shoudl still be able to tell them apart :)

Ok time for me to play devils advocate

I'm very certain the fish 1st image is the same as the one on top in the second, please correct me if I'm wrong.

the fist fish I believe to be female because the rear part of the dorsal apears heavily rounded, and there appears to be no lengthening of the forward part of the dorsal

the fish on the bottom I believe male for the same reasons, but reversed. There does seem to be a lengthening of the forward dorsal area, and the rear part of the dorsal is very angular in appearence.

While these are guides only with rams they can (and usually are) good judgeing points in a fish that can be difficult to sex when not breeding
