Hi Amber,

Okay you definetly 100% got a female Ram there.
I assume you were talking to me, or were you really talking to Amber? Thank you so much for helping me out too :)

Amber - I am using a flash but it's daylight out. I'll try again after it gets dark, but my camera is not top notch.
I'm pretty sure apisto was talking to you

Thats alright about the picture. I think you were right the first time about it being a she. :D That last pic was better, or shes showing more color or something lol

Oh by the way.. thats what I did. Went to the lfs and just studied all the different fish lol (my friend owns the store tho lol)

I thought apisto was talking to me, but sometimes it helps just to double check :S

I was really hoping that its colors would be coming out more now. I put a mirror in front of the tank so it might think there was another fish and color up for it, but it just keeps trying to swim over the mirror or to one side of it

She definitely does show more color in that last pic than in any of the others. It's coming back, but slowly. I keep trying to get her to eat, but she's shy and my piggy neon tetras are getting almost all the food. Their little bellies are about to bust they've had so much brine shrimp!

What else do you feed? I have done frozen (and freeze dried) brine shrimp before and NONE of my fish have ever liked it. They take one, spit it out and wont eat anymore. Cichlid granules are really good, flakes if she'll go for it (mine do) and frozen bloodworms are a fave of all my fish. I would try the frozen blood worms. They always get my fish excited. :D

I have:
Brine shrimp - frozen and dried
Flake food
Dried bloodworms

Yesterday I put in some frozen brine shrimp and the ones that she ate she did seem to like. Today I put in the dried brine shrimp and that's when the tetras really nearly burst their bellies! All my fish in my 46g also like both kinds of brine shrimp. I haven't tried flakes with this ram, but my pair that I had before did eat the flakes just fine. They haven't seemed real sure about going to the top though - mostly they've just waited til it fell a bit.

That's a good suggestion about the cichlid granules. I'll have to remember to pick up some of that when I go get this fishy a friend.

You said dried bloodworms.. try hikari frozen ones. They are really good :D (At least thats what my fishies tell me lol)

Amber - I got my pics up. Still not great. My camera keeps focusing on the plant behind the fish, not the fish itself. :S

Here they are...
