last night my 2 Blue Rams layed a batch of about 30 eggs. They were protecting them but this morning they are all gone - I guess my other fish got to them?

Next time, what should I do to stop this. I don't have a breeder tank. I thought these guys were supposed to be good parents?

I've had my blue rams spawn twice in the last couple of weeks (!!!) so you'll probably find they'll lay a new batch of eggs soon enough, I think after a month is more normal.
The first time the eggs hatched, some fry disappeared on night 1, a few more vanished night 2, and the rest disappeared night 3. This lot hatched yesterday, and no obvious losses so far.
I think a tank divider would be the best option if you've no separate tank, as it probably isn't the parents eating them.

Thanks! Will try and get a divider. Might have a problem dividing tank though as I have 1 catfish that hides in 1 corner behind plants and a cave - are they egg eaters? I don't know who the culprit was on this occasion!

Yes like many animals the parents dont always no what to do! Even they are Known to be good parents they need time to learn look up info on google.
Also many other fish eat eggs so if you dont no what to do take the eggs out.
Fact: The males And females will both look after the eggs and will get protive and aggressive....so make sure you no what to do look up on the web.

almost two months ago.... look at the dates.... either the fry have been eaten or are grown past the fry stage....
