As my tank stands now , has a blue painted background ( outside) , I want black !!!!
I think I have 2 options 1= remove paint and attach black back ground !! , but I'm not to sure how big a job I'm gonna be starting (6ft tank ) every last bit of blue will have to be removed !! And o can't see a scraper doin that !!!??

Option 2 = buy a 3d background , was thinking maybe a jewel granite but at £28 a sheet , ouch !!! Also will need a few bags of black sand so not gonna be cheap !!!

Any ideas ??

Honestly, if you want it to look brilliant, I'd go for the 3D background and the black sand! The tank would look stunning :good:

£28 will seem a little pricey but for my 6ft i was going to go for the pangea background which do look amazing although are close to £400 which is a lot of money IMO :( so roughly how many sheets will you need? 4 to 5 maybe? Will work out a lot cheaper if you were really wanting a 3D background.

I no my thoughts , problem no2 brace bars !!! It's blue background and play sand now !!
Goin for a black water set up !!!

Will need 3 sheets , just looked and can find them for £25 each , will have to remove one bracebar and slide them in !!!

That's the problem, most 6ft tanks seem to have 2 to 3 bracebar's which are in such an awkward place. Just be careful though, is it worth removing the bracebar?

Unless I cut the sheets just enough to get in ! Might mean cutting each sheet in half !!! ?? Should look the nuts though !!

Yeah i suppose you could cut them, then reseal in the tank? Plus plants will hide where the 2 ends meet making it barely noticeable so i think it will look good :good:.. What fish you keep in the tank?

Will be mainly geophagus set up !! Couple of sevs and a nice plec maybe a green phampton , ( will look good in the black tank !!!
Or a leopard frog pleco ?? V
