Hi guys,

I've just bought a Blue Orchid Aulonacara and added him to my Mbuna tank, see sig for tankmates. This was a bit of an impulse buy, he's an absolutely stunning fish and I couldn't resist him. He's pretty much full grown and bigger than all my Mbuna bar the big orange blotch zebra.

Now I'm a bit worried whether he will cope with the general aggression (a bit late i know). Everyone checked him out and the OB chased him a bit but things have settled down (been in there about half an hour). Anyone owned this type of Aulonacara? or any experience in mixing them with Mbuna?

Can this work :D or have i made a newbie type error? :-(

Peacocks don't generally do well in an aggressive mbuna setup, though who knows what can happen. That you've added him fully grown is a help though, so just keep a close eye on things.
Here's an artical on them

Cheers freddyk, I'll keep an eye on him and cross my fingers! :D

Well the Blue Orchid has gone back to the shop, things settled down but I wasn't happy so in the interest of the little guy, I returned him.

There was nothing else i wanted so i exchanged him for a load of food, far more sensible :) .....................but a lttle dull :(
