Blue Limia

Thought ild show a couple pics of my blue limia live bearers, only got 2 females and the male this time other 2 was hideing think they are camera shy lol i have 1 male and 4 females

Clover their lovely fish u got, they are not common in the hobby and even amoung breeders their are not many, but they do breed well when their setteleld.

No point looking for gravid spots as the females have a large gravid spot all the time.

These are strange fish as the females have more colour than the males, it's almost always males have the colour in livebearers.

thats true female are much prettyer than the male lol
its gunna be a job telling when they will pop, ill have to hope the fry can hide well in the plants

To me they do not, the head is the wrong shape and the body in platies is more compressed.

They are mose closely related to the Poecilia genus which includes mollies and guppies

is there any clue i should look for in these and what size fry do they have are they just like guppy fry? or biggar

Fry are about the same size as guppies, they get fat of course, when their close.

But it's something u lurn in time, soon your be able to look and tell when their close.

She's very plump thats for sure, but from what i remember their always quite large these fish.

i guess its just a waiting game and hope some hide well in the plants, then later i can catch them and move them to a fry tank (NOT breeder trap) dont like em.

are there any website about with helpfull info on them i cant seem to find any that are in english.
