i have a juwel trigon 190 and find that the lighting is too bright for my liking.
i do not keep live plants and do not want floating plants to give shade but i thought of changing one of the two light tubes for a blue one.
i am aware that these blue tubes are for marine aquariums to promote coral growth but are they safe for fresh water set ups?
i have a good amount of bog wood in the tank and the water is the colour of weak tea (without milk) but i still find it too bright.
im sure that the fish will not mind the blue light but i did not want to encourage some sort of algea that cannot be eaten by bristlenose plecs.
any one have any advice?
cheers
