Well my blue gourami has pop eye and has got very very fat close to burtsting in hours, any help? all my other fish are fine, but i did lose 2 other fish 3 days ago, they were a platie and female guppy.

Water stats are fine, everything fine with maintenance stuff, i also did a 30% water change not long as it was due today.

I have in the tank:
2x blue gouramis (1 is the 1 im talking about), 2x small Angel fish, 1x albeino red tailed shark fish, 1 platie, 2 female guppy, 1 male guppy, 2x un-known cat fish, 2 neon tetras, and a few apple snails.

Water temp: 26C but as its summer its gone up to 29c :/ put a ice bottle in to cool it down alittle.
Tank size: 100L

Please note: Tank stocking not finished yet i think.

there are some meds at pet stores u can get. Also your stcking is very uneducated. You have a 26 gallon or so and red tail needs about 40 gallons, angels 50 or so, neons like to be in groups, ect. ALWAYS reaserch before u buy. otherwise this sorta stuff happens because other wise you would know what to do.

EDIT: don't you dare put any more animals in that tank.

Im not a noob lol, unles i want to over stock all my other tanks, and i know angel fish need 30 (i know for small anyway) or more and the angels are babies and the albeino is still a baby, its a temporary home as the previous owners were going to flush them. i prefer to take them and re-home them myself and the albeino is now gone, my mate had it, the angel fish, well im planning on putting them in my community tank because i was un-sure the had diseses, because they came from the flusher ppl too. and i do research before i buy.

EDIT: the gourami got this when in care of the flusher ppl (flusher ppl, my nickname for the killers :p) so ask before judging.

and i have meds, i forgot i had them, moving to hospital tank and treating now.

EDIT 2: my tank is infact 200l, i pressed 1 insted of 2, i promise. :) so its 51 gallons. good stocking as fare as i know.

Can you measure the tank with a tape measure, then use the caculator at the top of the board.

If it.s a 100 litres the tanks
overstocked.

Can you post water stats please.

Anti internal bacteria med by interpet for popeye.

pictures of the catfish so we can ind out what they are, and just pics of the tank. How big are the angels?

Have a professional do a master test kit result on your water while you simultaneously treat the tank for popeye.

He asked for help regarding pop-eye on his gourami, not help on stocking his tank, I'd kindly thank you to stay on topic.

Bad water quality is a common reason enough to be the cause. High nitrAtes/nitrItes, ammonia, metal or plastic poisoning can be the reason too. Unsuitable salinity can also be the cause.

Bacterial infections, injury and water quality are the most common problems. Vitamin A deficiency, tumors and gas embolism are less common reasons

The affected fish should be immediately taken out to be separately treated. It is difficult to specify a specific treatment unless the main cause is definitely known. Large daily water changes should help, if not Epsom salts has been used with good results to draw the fluid out. One tablespoon per 5 gallons of water for at least three days, longer if necessary. Epsom salts isn't really salt (sodium chloride) it is Magnesium Sulfate. If water quality is the problem, a 50 percent water change must be made as soon as possible.

If a new item was added to the aquarium recently, it should be double checked that it is not poisoning the water or letting off chemicals. The quality of the water conditioner that is used should be checked that it has a good opinion by other aquarists. If the water readings are wrong (high nitrAtes etc), a 50 percent water change is recommended again and 15-20 percent water changes 3-5 times per week, until the water readings are correct. Overstocking is a common problem for high water readings. Another common reason would be decaying dead fish and fish food. The tank should be thoroughly searched for any dead fish and precautions must be taken NOT TO OVER FEED, and if the tank is overstocked, steps should be taken in finding some of your fish another good home. If a bacterial infection is the cause I would recommend 'Maracyn', 'Maracyn II', 'eSHa 2000' and 'Anti-internal bacteria' for treatment.
