Hi all
Just want to ask if it’s normal for blue eyes and guppies to school and top dwell together? I’ve noticed my lot have been doing this lately, it’s cute to watch but just curious

Never heard of it. Guppies dont really school or shoal, but they do like to be in a group so if they just like to have more fish around they might hang together

Any chance of a picture and video of the fish?
If the pictures are too big for the website, set the camera's resolution to its lowest setting and take some more. The lower resolution will make the images smaller and they should fit on this website. Check the pictures on your pc and find a couple that are clear and show the problem, and post them here. Make sure you turn the camera's resolution back up after you have taken the pics otherwise all your pictures will be small.

If the video is too big for this website, post it on YouTube and copy & paste the link here. We can view it at YouTube. If you are using a mobile phone to take the video, have the phone horizontal so the video takes up the entire screen. If you have the phone vertical, you get video in the middle and black on either side.

Yeah not a problem Colin. I’ve just finished feeding them so I’ll let them settle and get a video for you.

The fish are swimming into the current, that is why they are all hanging out together near the surface. Freshwater fish naturally swim into currents and that is all they are doing there.

If the water pump/ powerhead is the filter, there's not much you can do except change the direction of the flow. However, if it's just a power head designed for moving water, put it on a timer and have it on for a few hours each day and off at night.

Its not a problem, I have the output like that for the blue eyes because they love to swim the current flow. I just didn’t realise that the guppies enjoy doing it as well.

The fish shouldn't swim into the current continuously because it weakens them over time.

Normally in the wild the fish will swim into a current as they head upstream. They use short bursts of speed to move upstream a bit and then spend some time sitting in calm water behind rocks and wood. When they have recovered they have another burst of speed as they move further upstream. They continue doing this until they get to a large pool of water where it is calmer.

ohh I didn’t know that. I will look at positioning the flow a different way
