Hi I got A Blue Acara about 2 weeks ago. I feed him flakes but he rarely eats them and if he does he spits them out. I've done water checks everything is normal. He eats algae wafers which I feed to my Pleco. I was wonderin whether he can live on the Algae wafers. I've tried givin him cichlid sinking pellets but he don't eat them. My tank is 75 Gallons.

Have you tried frozen blood worms? How about earth worms. you can try these as long as to don't use pesticides or fertilizers. Welcome to the forum! :good:

Hi Colleen thank you for the reply. I only have 5 fish in my tank atm so I thought addin a block of frozen bloodworm wud b too much mayb ill try freeze dried. If he still isn't interested do u think jus algae wafers is enuf?

The algea wafers alone aren't good enough. They need meat in their diet too. Could you cut the frozen cube down so you don't use so much?

Try giving him floating cichlid pellets. My Blue Acara loves floating cichlid pellets, but won't touch sinking pellets.
