I currently have a 4 ft 55 gallon tank and want to put several species of small cichlids in, but I was wondering If it would be OK to have one Blue Acara in there with the smaller cichlids? I will have some Rams, Cockatoos, and other Apistos so I am just wondering if the Acara will try to eat them or will they be a little too big for him. Also, would an Acara eat cories and larger tetras?

I have heard of some acaras being as aggressive if not more than GT's so just watch the fish carefully if you put some smaller species of cichlid in with it. This goes for all cichlids: even if it is widely agreed upon that the stocking would be 100% fine, with cichlids, there is always a chance of all out brawling

hmm. look at a tank of blue acaras look for the most peaceful one. get your tank established. add your rams etc and then add the acara it could work it might not. just watch it s the acara may bully your other fish.
