Hi

We have bought some frozen bloodworms to feed to our three zebra danios as they have shown no interest in the flake food for a week now (see here : http://www.fishforums.net/index.php?/topic/333174-danios-still-not-eating/)

I dropped a cube in the tank this morning, which broke up fairly quickly and scattered the worms around the tank.

One of the danios ate a couple, the other two didn't really show any interest, and now there are a lot of these things scattered over the bottom of the tank.

Do i just leave them there in the hope they get eaten eventually or should they be removed?

Thanks

Well you should take out the remains which will rot and also you shouldnt drop cubes into the aquarium like that. You first need to defreeze it (I used boiling water) and in a fish net rince in clean tap water to wash away the red dirty icy wwater that comes with the bloodworms. Once this is done seperate the worms from the water and add the worms to a cup of your aquarium water and just out some drops in. A cube has a lot of worms and you will be overfeeding them if you keep on doing this

Yup those blood worms should be defrosted.

I have a feeding tray (reused Chinese take out plastic container  ) that I add a little of the aquarium water (10/15ml) and allow to cube to defrost in that before adding it to the aquarium. I also leave the flake food in the same container until it sinks to help avoid swim balder
