Blood Worms

Hi All,

I have been reading that Blood Worms contain very little in the way of nutrition.
Can anyone confirm if this is fact or not.

Reason I am asking. The only thing my Reed Fish are eating at the moment is blood worms. The seem to ignore anything else I put in the tank (Tetra Prima, Beef Heart (for my Angels), catfish pellets).

Don't mind giving them the blood worm, but if it isn't particularly nutritious, then perhaps I should try get them to eat something else.

bloodworms are nutritious but they're high in protein compared to prepared foods so they aren't a balanced diet should only be fed in moderation
Hikari's frozen blood worms are loaded with extra vitamins and minerals tho

what sort are you feeding?live freeze dried or frozen?

try a varity of 'meaty' foods prawns, earthworms etc
