Alright this may sound cheesy but I have had this feeder goldfish for about a year and a half and I've became farley attatched to her. I was looking at her about 2 days ago and she's got what looks like blood under her scales. Does anyone know what this is and how to treat it? (and right now she's in a little emergencie 5 g away from all the other fish) :/ :( :/ :(

What tank size was she living in how many gallons or litres.
Do you have stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.
What were her other tank mates.
Sounds like septicemia.
Take a close look to see if you can see a parasite.
Is the blood all over the body and scales.

Any red on the fins like streaking.
Any sores or ulcers.

Could it be bleeding from a cut or wound.

She's in a 29g. -2 Festivums
-3 Guppies
-1 Comon Plec
-1 Pictus Catfish
-3 Rosey Barbs (new)
And her.The Bloody spots are random places, no cuts or scraps. I'm going to take water into my local Pet store and get them to test my water for me.

The tank is overstocked with her in there, she needs a least a 20gal tank of her own, they are massive waste producers and need excellent filters.
Get water tested and tell them to write the readings down for you.
Do they look like red patches.
I would add a bacterial med to her hospital tank as it sounds like septicemia.
Increase aeration in the hospital tank.
Also look into he common plec as they can grow big i think.

I have a place for my plec when he out grows my tank.
The tank is not nearly over stocked, i know what some people believe with tank stocking but thats not my question. Thankyou for the help.

The tank fine as long as the goldfish is not in there.
I have a goldfish in a 40gal and believe me it hard work keeping stats good with goldfish.

How often do you maintain the tank, gravel vac and water change, as you have two large waste producing fish in the tank, the goldfish and the plec.
