Heya Folks, how can you tell a male from a female red blood jewel?

I have a pair and the guy I bought 'em off of said they were a mating pair.
I'm not so sure I have one of each.

Well, I know I have a male and a female due to the fact I have eggs all over the place.

My question is, what precautions should I take regarding the fry?
Will the parents eat, or gaurd the fry?

Very difficult to tell with Jewel's i'm afraid. When full grown, the males tend to be slightly larger than the females. Venting is pretty much the only way to be sure.

Quick look on google, the parents look after the fry mainly the female
