I was at the lfs and I fell in love with the blood parots they had there. They are expensive but adorable. I know they grow to be quite big fish. What size tank would you need to own some of them? Thanks :)

A 55 gallon would be a good size for one, I'd say. :)

Edit: If you end up getting one, try to get one that hasn't been dyed. They are an orangey-red colour naturally, and when young some of them have a black/brown pattern... basically, just avoid them if they're fluorescent

Yeah I know, thank goodness my lfs didn't have any that were dyed, they are already beautiful fish, they don't need anything else. They have large ones and the babies. The large ones are 25 dollars each and the babies are 14 dollars each :/ . How long do you think it would take them to get bigger and have their orange color if I bought them as babies? Thanks for the help though, i'll be looking for a 55 gallon :D

It takes them no longer than about 4 months to get their bright orange colour. The one i have in my 40 gallon has a very nice colour. Just make sure you feed it flakes, cichlid pellets, vegetables, and some frozen foods.
