My betta lived happily in his elcipse 5 gallon until a few days ago that is... Origonally I had the tank split with a divider, one side with Rand the betta, and the other half with molly fry. Since the fry were then big enough to transfer to the community tank, I moved them all out and removed the divider. Before, Randy had the filter on his side. On the other side was the... uhhh i don't really know what its called, but where the water is dispensed back into the tank after its been filtered. So I removed the divider, added some plants and ornaments, made it look all pretty. I also threw in some additional fish. 3 white cloud minnows and 2 small algae eaters (not sure what they are). But for the past 2 days he has been just resting on the bottom of the tank. on Thursday I gave him some brine shrimp and it made him kind of bloated. Usually the bloating goes down overnight but its now Saturday and he is still bloated I have only fed him once in the time period. The other fish seem healthy and fine. Could there current have something to do with it? Is there anything to help him? Maybe its a disease? though I do not think its dropsy...

you could try giving him some shelled garden peas it helps with there digestive system gives them a bit of a clear out I feed my fish peas at least once a fort night ?

I dont think the Algea Eaters and WCM should be in that tank, it will surely cause an ammonia spkie aswell as the tank being too small.

Fast the betta one day then the next day feed him a crumbled de-shelled pea :)

Yeah. The lady at Petsmart told me three would be okay =/ and um well we don't have any peas right now...are sugarsnap peas okay?

if you cant get peas, do you have any broccoli? you can use the little green tips and feed in place of peas.
cheers!
