Hey--

I have 2 guppies (assumed male) that are extremely bloated. They are to the point of "pineconing"-- their scales are starting to separate and point out like a pinecone. However, the seem to be swimming fine. I've been treating with quICK cure, but no results so far. Any suggestions? Is it a bacterial infection? Will they go back to normal size?

There is a third in the tank which is fine.

it's dropsey you need to do several 30% water changes over the next week or so.

Any medication would be good but it's difficualt to get back once they start to suffer
myaxizin or simular would help.

i have had this happen to a platy i purchases and it also had internal parasites. i treated the tank for ich and the parasites along with water changes, she survived and i still have her. she was at the point where she was bloating and scales sticking out, i also noticed some of her fins looked like they were squished together (if that makes sense).

good luck!
