I have a dwarf fire gourami in a 29G tank that is fairly bloated in the immediate stomach area - not all over his body. His scales aren't sticking out, and he's been hiding a bit, though is still fairly social. I just noticed that he's flashing a fair bit. He doesn't eat like a dwarf gourami should, so I'm pretty sure there is something going on. One of his gills has been pink/reddish for about 2 months now.

He's been lethargic and not real interested in eating for several months. He does eat, mostly scavanging off the bottom from time to time.

The stats are 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite, 10 nitrate - I've been doing twice weekly water changes. He and some of the other inhabitants were exhibiting symptoms of internal parasites early last week - stringy white poop, and I treated the tank with jungle's parasite clear. All of the other fish seem to be fine now.

The tank mates are 3 honey gouramis, 3 angels (.75" each currently), 4 platies and another dwarf gourami, who I think brought in the parasites.

Any idea what is wrong with him?

I watched him flicking and he seems to be scratching the back part of his stomach, where the bulge goes down to the back part of his body. Imagine a gourami that looks like he swallowed a small marble and it's in his stomach - that's about how he looks.

The gill coloring has been like that for a long time - possibly since I got him about 6 months ago, and I've only noticed it since I moved him to a different tank about 2 months ago. I think the parasite clear would have killed the flukes, too, correct?

Flukes take some getting rid off quite hard actually.
Sounds like to me he still has them and they have now caused a bacterial infection.

They have hooks that pierce the skin and in these hooks they have a nasty bacteria which enters the fish blood stream.

Confusion what your location as there a good jbl med for gill flukes.

Clout a good med but strong I think.
