I've got a shoal of 9 black widow tetras in a 250l (58G) planted tank along with 5 Keyhole Cichlids and 1 common plec....
The tank has been going around 5 months
2 of them are *very* bloated and have been for a good 2 or 3 months
- at first I thought it might be dropsy but they showed no other signs of illness
- then I thought they might be pregnant (I'm not sure what pregnant tetras look like) but the gestation period must be shorter than this for a 2 inch fish!!
Recently the other tetras have started to become really roudy around the few bloated ones and they are starting to get stressed about it.
Has anyone had an experience like this or can explain what is happenning?
Failing that... does a black-widow tetra turn into a baloon shape when pregnant? and how long should it last?
